Lenten Service Project

Our Lenten Service Project is a Penny Competition Fundraiser.  One of our alumni, Sister Morgan Medbery, is a member of Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother in Spain.  Recently, an earthquake struck one of their communities in Ecuador, killing several hundred people, including members of the Servant Sisters.  We are working to raise money for them and help them rebuild.

Fat Tuesday and Ash Wednesday

We prepared for Lent with a Mardi Gras parade and then held a devotional and buried the Alleluia on Fat Tuesday. Then we gathered in worship today for Ash Wednesday. Wishing everyone a prayerful and blessed Lenten season!

OPEN HOUSE - FEB 1ST

Come see our school in action!  Wednesday, February 1st, is the middle of Catholic Schools Week.  On that day, students will be dressed as their favorite saints.  We hope you can join us!

CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS ARE HERE

Congratulations to Allie M., winner of this year’s ornament design contest sponsored by PTO!

Allie says, “Christmas is my favorite time of year and I thought of a piece that represents the true meaning of Christmas...The Holy Family.  This piece is Mary and Joseph looking down at the newborn Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Allie’s ornament has been cast in pewter and the first production run has nearly sold out!  If you would like to order one (or more) of these ornaments, please pick-up an order form in the school office or in the church foyer after Mass this weekend.  Orders must be placed by December 9th.  Your purchase benefits St. John’s Catholic School. 

ADVENT WREATHS

Advent Wreaths are a wonderful tradition to help prepare our souls for Christ's return and to celebrate his birth!

ou can purchase your own Advent wreath in the school office and in the church foyer after weekend Masses.  Prices are as follows:  $10/candles only, $20/wreath only, $25/both.  They also include prayers to read when lighting each candle.
