We know that exercise and healthy eating are an important part of childhood development. Numerous studies show that children who eat right and exercise perform better academically. Our students get plenty of play time and are encouraged to bring healthy snacks to school. The cafeteria also serves well-balanced, homemade meals.
RECESS AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Saint John’s students from grades Kindergarten through 8th enjoy regular gym class and recess in addition to the extra-curricular competitive athletics programs.
In 2017, St. John's installed a new playground for both the preschool and the elementary school. There is also a large field that can be used for P.E. and Middle School recess.
Our cafeteria serves homemade hot lunches that meet or exceed State health guidelines.
In addition to physical education, recess, and extra-curricular sports, St. John's hosts an all-school field day in the fall and a spring event, such as a walk-a-thon, to encourage our families to lead healthy and active lives.
